Announcement of Haiku Down Under 2024

The organisers are excited to announce that the second Haiku Down Under conference will take place online via Zoom from Friday to Sunday, August 16-18, 2024. Our theme for 2024 is A Sensory Journey.

Haiku Down Under 2024 – A Sensory Journey is an initiative to connect writers primarily from New Zealand and Australia through workshops, presentations, writing sessions and readings. Our aim is to celebrate our seasons, peoples and cultures, landscapes and seascapes, vernacular language, and flora and fauna.

Update March 2024: We are delighted to announce the awesome Presenters confirmed so far together with the titles of their workshops or presentations.

Soon we will be announcing the Programme with the timing of the workshops, presentations and other activities that engage with our theme.

Registration will open on 1 June, 2024.

Please put the dates 16-18 August, 2024 in your diary and stay tuned for further details, which will be released here on our website over coming weeks.

Haiku Down Under 2022 Anthology

Haiku Down Under 2022, poetry from the edge, held via Zoom from October 7-9, 2022, was a new initiative to connect writers from New Zealand, Australia and beyond. HDU2022 was a wonderful mix of workshops, prompted writing sessions and presentations to celebrate our seasons, people, landscapes and seascapes, vernacular language, and flora and fauna.
