About the Society
The Australia Japan Society
of NSW Incorporated (AJS-NSW) was founded in Sydney in 1968. It is a
not-for-profit, non-political organization, incorporated under the
Associations Incorporation Act (ABN: 54 519 437 753). AJS-NSW is affiliated with the The National Federation of Australia-Japan Societies, which is the peak body in Australia for the promotion of Australia-Japan cultural, public affairs and educational activities. There are equivalent but independent State Societies and affiliated groups in all major centres in each Australian state. There are also a number of counterpart societies, based in Japan. The main aim of the Society is to promote common interest and mutual understanding and goodwill between the peoples of Australia and Japan - at all levels. The activities of AJS-NSW in pursuit of these objectives are wide and varied. BoardThe Board of Management of AJS-NSW comprises representatives from a broad range of business, government and the community who provide their services on a voluntary basis because they are passionate about the value of the Australia-Japan relationships – between businesses, Governments and people.
